By far the best book ever written about the history of aviation is Professor Robert Wohl's A Passion for Wings: Aviation and the Western Imagination. A Passion for Wings: Aviation and the Western Imagination, Professor Robert Wohl: 9. The Truth About Forever-I love this book, great characters, part romance, pages. Just Listen-romance too, great book, over pages. To Kill A Mocking Bird-I haven't read it yet, but it's supposed to be very good, pages. Twilight-over pages I think, I read it, loved it. The Golden Compass-fantasy, but really good, over pages.
Great Books Under Pages. The inspiration for Great Books Under Pages came from a July, article on Book Riot called Why Are Books Getting Longer? I commented on this article that, sure enough, I have a book recommendation list called Time to Kill, which is where my favorite chunksters Jeremy Anderberg responded to my comment with this. Lester's "Aviation Weather" was the textbook for my last college aviation weather class. It's very good for the academic knowledge. Edit: For the most VALUE in learning about weather, though, after you crunch your way through a book like Lester, then look for Scott D's online learning courses. One book telling a particular piece of history I can recommend as likely to fascinate any pilot would be: Touching History by Lynn Spencer It’s a meticulous account of the interaction between the various different professionals involved in the eve.
Hey Bookglow, You should really review my pioneer aviation book! I have recently published (June, and September, ) a two volume biography of a little known American aviation pioneer. The book’s title is: To Caress the Air: Augustus Herring and the Dawn of Flight. At their advent, aircraft were welcomed as more than merely a new technology. The fascination with flight is the theme of the five books you selected, and your earliest book explores this theme so elegantly that I want to begin by asking you to tell us about The Winged Gospel. “The winged gospel” is not my invention but rather a phrase that’s found very often in the aviation literature.
